A. Get your Interactive Notebooks organized...colored...all materials up to now glued in.  I will collect notebooks on test day!
B. Study everything in your notebook for test next week.

2nd Hour- Glue all the materials for the Foreign Policy Spectrum in your notebook...under your 5 P's notes...read each "Foreign Policy Action", put an "X" in the column (s) you feel best explains U.S. actions, and then which "P" or "P's" do you think are reasons for the action.  DONE ON MONDAY.

UNIT 1 TEST NEXT WEEK...INTERACTIVE NB'S SHOULD BE COLORED, ORGANIZED, AND COMPLETE...STUDY ALL MATERIALS...I WILL COLLECT NOTEBOOKS TOO! 

Today Mr. Avery talked to all of you about College Day and ACT/SAT testing.  If you have not completed the 5 Ideals Chart...it must be done/turned in tomorrow at the start of class.  We will go over the timeline and make certain you have a few "basic" facts down.  Our next focus will be on American Foreign Policy Actions...this activity will introduce the FIVE P's of American Foreign Policy...why did they fly planes into our buildings in 2001???  Get ready to think...You will be given a Current Event assignment tomorrow! STUDY YOUR INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOKS!

Hello Gang...Looks like I will be gone on Monday as well.  5th Hour...you have pictures on Monday...packets are in my room!  Periods 2 and 6...your pics are on Tuesday.

If you did not get the 5 Ideals packet complete...make certain you do so...I will collect them on Tuesday if you haven't turned them in yet.

On Monday you will watch a video: "America: The Story of Us"..."Millenium"...you will see how it relates to our 5 Ideals activity and 9/11!  

I got a great report from Friday's subsitute!  Keep it up please!  I am gone for a very good reason!

Today you worked with a partner looking at the development of the 5 Ideals in American History.  We will discuss 9/11 tomorrow...it happened 13 years ago!  How old were you? What do your parents remember about that day?  Why did they attack us on 9/11/2001?

We will resume the 5 Ideals Activity on Friday!

Today you were working on the Ch. 2 Ideals reading packet filling in the chart...graphic organizer...in your notebook...you had better know the following when you walk into the room tomorrow:

1. What is an ideal?  Define it?
2. What is the 'focus question'?
3. What are the FIVE IDEALS?
4. Did you finish the chart from the reading?  If not finish it tonight!

Tomorrow you will be placed with a "random" partner and "take a walk" through American History tracing the pursuit of the 5 Ideals in history...!

Today we discussed what an "ideal" is...and how we strive to achieve it!  Good job today with our class survey. Tomorrow will be devoted to some close reading identifying the 5 ideals specifically. We will show you a quick video about the topic to set it up.  THE SPIRIT OF '76!

Monday we start with some in-class reading, graphic organizing in NB's, and a critical thinking partner activity...covering "The 5 Ideals."

Finished "Why Study History?" notes today.  Tomorrow we will have a discussion/activity Evaluating Sources...Now we are Thinking History!!!

A little late getting this posted! Today we started "Thinking
History."  We will take a few notes and discuss some skills we will be working on this year.  You will be in teams and discuss some historical questions and sources.  I might even give you something to glue in your notebook!!!! NO WAY...HISTORY...I LOVE HISTORY!

TODAY WAS SYLLABUS DAY...BETTER HAVE ALL YOUR REQUIRED MATERIALS. TOMORROW WE WILL PRACTICE OUR CLASS CHEER (History...No Way...I Love History...) AND THEN WATCH SNL "COWBELL'...and explain what that has to do with this class...AND THEN WATCH SNL "DISFUNCTIONAL HISTORY CLASS!"...WE START WITH OUR FIRST UNIT ON THURSDAY!!!
